CBA denies the allegations of the Watermelon Association
The CBA Kereskedelmi Kft. rejects that the company distributes melons under the purchase price in its network.
The President of the Hungarian Watermelon Association told to MTI on Monday, that the Aldi and the CBA chain of stores sold watermelon on a very low, 35 forint per kilogram price, which according to Simonka György is so low that it even deplete the sales under purchase price.
Fodor Attila, head of communication at CBA told to MTI on Tuesday, that only one owner sold the watermelon on a 39 HUF per kilogram price for a few days in order to prevent the products from spoiling. In other stores of the network, the price of watermelon is 49 HUF per kilogram and 45 HUF per kilogram on a discounted price. He also stressed, that the 39 HUF per kilogram price is still not below the purchase price – reports MTI.
