Cadbury Schweppes to Invest 250 Million Euros in Poland
Food and beverage giant has announced that it is to spend 250 million euros over the next four to five years on the construction of a new factory at Skarbimierz and the expansion of a plant in Wroclaw.
Two thirds of the investment will go
towards the construction of the new production facility. Work is to
start this year. Poland had been in competition with other Eastern
and Central European countries for the Cadbury business.
The news
comes almost two months after the group confirmed it would close its
chocolate factory in Keynsham, near Bristol. Keynsham’s chocolate
production is being moved to the Bournville factory and to a factory
in Poland. It is now thought that parts of the Bournville factory
operations could also be relocated to Poland.
