Butter and spread prices increased the most
In August 2017 consumer prices were 2.6 percent higher on average than in August 2016. Food prices rose 3.2 percent, with butter and spread prices jumping 12.5 percent. Pork’s price grew by 9.9 percent, sugar and bread became 5.3 percent more expensive. We had to pay 5.8 percent more for alcoholic drinks and tobacco products. Motor fuel prices were also up 5.8 percent and services cost 1.8 percent more. Compared with July 2017, consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent. Food prices dropped 0.5 percent, butter and spread prices increased by 3.4 percent. Between January and August 2017 like-for-like consumer prices grew by 2.4 percent on average. //
