Penalty due to misleading ads and broken promissies
Hungarian Compatition Authority imposed a fine on three big retailers in total value of HUF 14 million.
Tesco have to pay HUF 10 million fine
because misleading ads in its leaflefts between 3th January – 6th
March 2008. The retailer offered products not avaible in the
warehouses, and had some products where the value of discount wasn't
real.
Similar problems had SPAR between 3th
January – 23th January 2008. The missing products and only
one incorrect discount value cost HUF 1 million for SPAR.
Compatition authority made additional
control at CORA, where they futher missed the correct information
about quarranty conditions. The situation was almost unchanged, so
CORA has to pay HUF 3 million for authority.
