Partying in times of tyranny – Picture of the day
The best-known work of the Iranian designer, graphic artist, media artist Amirali Ghasemi is the Tehran Remixed: Party series. With Ghassemi’s works, he tried to tell us that everyday life in Tehran is not like what the prejudiced images of the mass media show: he talked about the private life and party culture of the Iranian youth in such a way that neither the conservatives could use his images to suppress what they believed to be anti-Islamic activities, nor the reformers they should not be used as an example to show the development of Iranian society.
Sad, relatable… maybe a little hopeful.
