Bucharest became Wizz Air’s largest base
Last year, Bucharest became Wizz Air’s largest base – reports Ziarul Financiar based on the company’s information.
The discount airline’s base in Bucharest has 17 aircraft, and the number of flights departing from and arriving there is an average of 2,400 per month. The number of Wizz Air flights to Budapest is around 2,000, reports Ziarul Financiar.
In the near future, two more machines will be added to the stock of the Bucharest base. “With this investment, the number of planes at the Bucharest base, where 800 people work, will increase to 19. This is Wizz Air’s largest base, thus strengthening its position as the market leader in Romania, with a 57 percent market share,” the airline told Ziarul Financiar.
