Budapest World Water Summit 2019
The drama of scarce water, plenty of water and polluted water unfolds before our eyes, which is actually “the drama of humanity, the logical consequence of our irresponsibility,” said President Áder János at the opening of the 2019 World Water Summit in Budapest on Tuesday.
The head of state emphasized that they gathered at this meeting in Budapest because they want to prevent the water crisis that jeopardizes food security, disrupts energy production, hinders the development of cities and makes people’s health difficult to predict. He stressed that the question is how to prevent the crisis where it is still possible and how to adapt where the water crisis has already come.
