Budapest is the center of river cruise tourism

Budapest is still the inavitable center of the river Danube cruise tourism. The guest traffic of the ship hotels is expected to grow by over 10 percent this year – Glázer Tamás, the Deputy CEO of the Hungarian National Tourist Office told MTI.

He added that last year about 400 thousand guests visited the Hungarian capital, who typically came from overseas – Australia, the United States, Canada or New Zealand – and their two-week ship journey started here, or ended here. The number of visitors came mainly from inside Europe, especially Germany and France has stagnated. (MTI)
