Budapest Airport: passenger traffic increased by 16.9 percent in the first quarter
The passenger traffic of the Budapest Airport grew by 16.9 percent in the first quarter compared with the same period of the year before. About three million people used the airport in Budapest. The growth is nearly three times higher than the rate of the EU airports that have a 6.2 percent growth ratio – the Budapest Airport told MTI.
They explained that the growth was driven by the well-performing Hungarian economic indicators, Hungary’s growing tourist attractiveness and the strong airline marketing activities of the Budapest Airport, which have brought more and more new airlines to Hungary, while the old ones are increasing their flight numbers or capacity.
