Budapest is the eighth most popular Conference venue
Budapest moved to eighth place from the former twenty-fourth in the 2008 year ranking of the Union of International Associations (UIA) on the list of the most popular Conference venues.
The organization distinguishes three categories on the basis of the size, the duration and the organizers of events. According to UIA's list: In A and B categories Hungary gained 20th in C category the 21st with a total of 175 conference hosted. Budapest is on the 8th place in all of the three categories with 141 events. On the basis of the UIA list, Hungary was the 29th, and Budapest was the 24th in the 2007 in the World Rankings. The fact that besides Budapest, 13 rural cities also placed on the list – (Balatonalmádi, Balatonfüred, Debrecen, Győr, Lajosmizse, Miskolc, Pécel , Pécs, Siófok, Sopron, Szeged, Székesfehérvár, Veszprém), while in 2007 only Pécs could enter the list, besides the Hungarian capital – is a significant progress. According to the 2008 year datas of UIA, the most of the conferences have been settled in the United States, France and Singapore. In the competition between the cities, Singapore, Paris and Brussels are standing on the podium, while London became ninth with Budapest eight – reports Menedzsment Fórum.
