A Brexit test is being held for freighters on the French-British border
“Brexit test” on freight vehicles takes place in the northern French port city of Calais on the French-British border – French budget minister Gérald Darmanin announced on Friday. The two-month deadline for British membership to end on October 31 and reintroduce border controls.
“For a month, we’re acting as if Brexit has happened. For most companies, we’re putting in a major rehearsal to get everything ready by the end of October,” he told RTL French commercial radio. “We have hired seven hundred new customs officers and set a smart frontier with innovative technology,” he added.
