Breaking: You can withdraw more cash for free with Revolut cards

Wise quickly followed the Hungarian legislative change and raised the amount of cash that can be withdrawn from an ATM with a card in a maximum of 2 installments per month from the previous 150,000 forints to 300,000 forints. This is a privilege specifically for Hungarian cardholders, as Wise determines the free cash withdrawal limits by country. In addition, this amount limit does not only apply to domestic, forint ATMs, but you can also get free money up to this amount in other countries and in foreign currencies.

A little late, but Revolut has also stepped in, because according to the Hungarian price list, which will be updated on February 12, they have also increased the amount of free cash withdrawals for all their subscriptions except the Metal package. Accordingly, with the Standard package, you can withdraw up to 150,000 forints per month in up to 5 installments, while with the Plus, Premium and Metal packages, the limit is 300,000 forints, and with Ultra, it is 750,000 forints.

Of course, since the service provider provides cash withdrawals free of charge, the ATM operator may charge a fee, but the amount is announced in advance, so it is possible to cancel the transaction. There is an example of this in Hungary: Erste and OTP, for example, charge a fee for cash withdrawals with foreign-issued cards, including Revolut and Wise plastic cards.
