Hungary exports more poultry meat
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) revealed that on the 39th week of the year Hungarian Vilmos pear cost HUF 355/kg at the Budapest Wholesale Market. It was on this week that the Alexander/Bosc pear also appeared in the market: it was sold for HUF 350/kg.
On weeks 16-24 the price of cabbage was 16 percent lower, HUF 215/kg than in the same period of 2015. According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), in the first six months of 2016 Hungary’s like-for-like poultry meat export increased by 10 percent to 107,000 tons. On weeks 1-37 the production price of broiler chicken was HUF 256/kg, 2.2 percent lower than in the same period of 2015. /
