Growing wine export
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) reveal that Hungary’s wine export grew 6 percent in volume and increased almost 7 percent in value in the January-May 2015 period – in comparison with the same period of 2014. On the contrary, our sparkling wine export dropped 10 percent in volume and fell 2 percent in value. In July 2015 the production price of raw milk was HUF 74.51/kg, down 26 percent from the July 2014 level. Raw milk was exported for HUF 77.42/kg, 30 percent less than a year earlier. Hungary’s live cattle export grew by 11 percent in the first five months of 2015. We sold the most – almost HUF 4 billion in value – in the Turkish market. In the first 32 weeks of the year the price of egg was up 2.6 percent at EUR 128.8/100kg in the European Union. At the place of packaging the price of egg (sizes M and L) in Hungary was HUF 23.02 per piece in the week 1-32 period of 2015 – 10.4 percent more than in the same period of 2014.
