ALDI and E.ON Drive Infrastructure Hungary expand their joint electric car charging network
ALDI Hungary and E.ON Drive Infrastructure Hungary (EDRI) are further expanding their joint electric car charging network; In December, new, high-performance HPC charging devices will be installed in the parking lots of eight ALDI stores, with which those affected can noticeably increase the range of their vehicles in just a few minutes – ALDI announced to MTI on Friday.
The expansion will take place in Érd, Kecskemét, Debrecen, Szombathely, Siófok, Fót, Székesfehérvár and Zalaegerszeg.
The aim of the developments is to enable customers to quickly and reliably charge their electric vehicles during the holiday season in December, even during a short shopping trip. In addition, the chargers are still easy to use: charging can be started on site with a bank card or QR code in a few seconds.
It was recalled that the cooperation between ALDI and the E.ON group of companies started in 2018, when electric chargers operated by the group of companies first appeared in the parking lots of the supermarket chain.
ALDI Hungary is a member of the ALDI Süd group of companies, which is a key player in the Hungarian economy with its network of 187 stores. E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI), part of the E.ON Group, is the leading European charging station operator.
The public charging network developed, built and operated by EDRI can be used for any type of electric vehicle and supplies all of the company’s chargers with 100 percent green energy.
The company employs 180 people and operates more than 8,300 public charging points in 11 European countries: Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands and Hungary.
