Prémium Kert Kft. expanded its capacity in Szeged
Prémium Kert Kft., which deals in vegetable and fruit trade, expanded its capacity in Szeged with EU support and an investment of more than HUF 178 million – the company informed MTI.
According to the announcement, in the project – the costs of which were covered by a conditionally non-refundable European Union grant of HUF 124.67 million – among other things, a salad preparation and packaging machine was put into operation, the part of the building was insulated to ensure a constant temperature in the packaging area, and the company’s electric and walk-behind forklift bought.
In order to ensure sustainable operation, the company operates a compartment washer that cleans plastic rolls and a baler that enables efficient transportation and recycling of boxes, pallets, and packaging materials. Fresh goods arriving as scrap or damaged will be used as compost material, and the energy needs of the Algyői út site will be partially covered by the newly installed solar panel system.
Founded in 2007, Prémium Kert Kft. has been operating since the fall of 2010 as a supplier to several large international retail store chains. The company deals in the sale of high-quality vegetables and fruits, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, strawberries, cantaloupes, peaches, and nectarines that can be produced in the Great Plains. The company’s specialty is the distribution of small-pack, packaged products with greater added value.
