Good domestic cucumber yield is expected

In line with the Western European trend, the annual consumption of cucumbers is growing in Hungary, from 1.6 to 1.8 kilograms per kilogram per capita a year. It is expected that nearly 18,000 tons will be the amount of domestic shelled cucumber this year, which will be enough to serve domestic consumption.

In line with European trends, Hungarian consumption is also growing dynamically, consumers demand fresh cucumbers throughout the year. The freshness is very important for the cucumber, so in the case of cucumber imports, there are important advantages for the domestically grown cucumbers.
