Abundant grape harvest was predicted in Ópusztaszer
Abundant grape harvest was predicted by farmers of the surrounding mountain communities and the representatives of the Carpathian Basin wine orders at the St Vincent’s Day celebration in the Ópusztaszer National Historical Memorial Park.
Kalmár István, a mountain judge of Mórahalom, said after cutting some canes in the vineyard of the memorial park’s open-air vineyard that the buds are healthy. The cut canes are well developed, matured, springy, with a good proportion of bark and gut.
If winter does not come as a surprise and hard frosts do not occur, abundant harvests can be expected – the mountain judge, who asked for St. Vincent’s intervention too. (MTI)
