Bosch: three times around the world – 120 thousand sports kilometers in 6 years
An exemplary performance was achieved in the Run a Company competition held among domestic companies. In 2024, Robert Bosch Kft. won the title of the sportiest domestic company for the sixth time in the popular competition of the Budapest Sports Office, in which more than 700 companies participated. Bosch athletes ran nearly 14 thousand kilometers, cycled 1,700 kilometers, swam 500 kilometers and walked 400 kilometers in 2024. This placed the company in absolute first place not only in the large company category, but also in the entire field.
Around the World Three Times in Six Years
Bosch’s Budapest sports community, now numbering 2,000 people, has been collecting kilometers every year in the Run a Company competition since the start of the competition, and since 2018, the innovative large domestic company has been on the top step of the podium for the sixth time. “There is a lot of work behind our achievements. Our sports community, which is now 11 years old, has enormous power, which is also evident from the fact that we are able to encourage each other to perform better with our numbers increasing year by year. Our athletes have almost rented a place in the company’s competitions, and over the past six years we have covered nearly 120 thousand kilometers running, swimming, or on two wheels, which is as much distance as if we had circled the Earth together three times,” said Victor Popa, group leader responsible for innovation at Robert Bosch Kft., head of the Bosch sports community.
Bosch sports communities nationwide
For years, the Bosch Group in Hungary has paid special attention to promoting sports and encouraging its employees to exercise regularly at all its locations: Budapest, Hatvan, Miskolc, Maklár and Eger. The company supports communities with various corporate sports challenges, covering entry fees and tickets, jerseys, training sessions, coaches, equipment, and track rental, among other things. Bosch aims to support the continuous development of its employees and to create a balanced, flexible, people-centered work environment.
