Gloomy consumer sentiment in the United States
The significant decrease of the Michigan index caused a surprise, since analysts expected an increase.
The University of Michigan reported a drop in consumer confidence. The sentiment index fell to 66.6 points in September, from the 68.9 points of the previous month, causing surprise to the analysts, who expected an increase.
In June, the Michigan index stood on 76 points – reports Világgazdaság Online, after Reuters.
