The Chinese are buying wineries near Bordeaux
Chinese investors are buing wineries near Bordeaux one after another. The last time, the largest food company of the Asian country largest appeared at the famous wine region.
The state-owned COFCO bought the 20 hectare Chateau Viaud, from the Lalande de Pomerol region. The company negotiated for three-years over the taking over of the winery. The agreement was announced on Tuesday. The purchase price is not known, but a hectare of vines are about 150 thousand euros (40 million HUF) at that wine region – reports Világgazdaság Online, after MTI.
