Hungary is self-sustainable from wine
This year is expected to be better for the wine sector than last year, but more forecasts cannot be given, because there is still a lot of time left until harvest – said Horváth Csaba, the Secretary-General of the National Council of Wine Communities (HNT) at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
However, he mentioned: that the frosts of last December and May 2011 damaged the vineyards on a thousands acres. This already worsened this years harvest outlooks. The past year was specifically bad for the Hungarian wine sector, only about half the normal quantity made to the wine cellars:1.6 million hectoliters – reports vallalkozoinegyed.hu.
