Families can also meet Gyula Bodrogi and Süsü in the Magic Garden
The St. Stephen’s Day event series awaits families with a colorful program again this year. The center of events for the youngest is once again the Magic Garden in the City Park, where film screenings, interactive fairy tale performances, concerts and craft workshops guarantee entertainment on August 19 and 20 – for both young and old. One of the special guests of the programs will be Gyula Bodrogi, whom visitors can meet in person.
On August 19–20, classic Hungarian fairy tales and circus magic will once again come to life in the City Park. The Egyszervolt Fairy Tale Ensemble will perform on the stage of the Magic Garden, and Ágacska will be seen, as well as Süsü, the Adventures of the Dragon and the Mézga Family will also be welcomed back to the screen. The little ones can enjoy puppet shows and Pom Pom tales, while the creative ones can make Pom Pom figures and flat puppets with a twist in the craft tent.
One of the highlights of this year’s Magic Garden will be the performance of a true legend, Gyula Bodrogi, who will enchant the audience not only as the voice of Süsü, but also as a guest of an exclusive conversation. As part of the program titled “The World of Süsü”, children and their parents can both find joy in the nostalgic stories of the beloved actor giant.
The square in front of Vajdahunyad Castle will once again be transformed into a “Magic Castle”, where children can travel back in time. The playful rehearsals of the prince and princess training program, the time-traveling Magic Time show and the steam-powered tricycle artist stunts will ensure good mood all day long. There will be a cop-robber game, a blacksmith workshop, a fencing demonstration, and the opportunity to try out medieval rifles, swords, candles, and other special items.
In addition, the Hungarian Defence Forces are also preparing programs: families can see tanks used by the military and even a model of a Gripen fighter jet.
The programs of the Magic Garden will be held between 10:00 and 18:00 on both days, and participation is free.
The programs of St. Stephen’s Day, as well as detailed information about the performers and programs, can be found on the constantly updated website szentistvannap.hu and the official mobile application of the celebration series.
