József Bock received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Hungarian Wine Academy
Villány winemaker József Bock received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Hungarian Wine Academy (MBA) on Tuesday in the Parliament.
At the award ceremony, Minister of Agriculture István Nagy thanked József Bock for the work he did for the revival and development of the Hungarian wine industry and for the international recognition of Hungarian wine.
The Bock family has been dealing with grapes in Villány since 1850, József Bock also knew what a valuable heritage the ancient family estate in the Jammertal vineyard is – he recalled.
According to him, as a result of the developments started after the regime change, the winery now owns 80 hectares of grapes and farms another 70 hectares in an integrated area, in addition to having its own processor and hostel.
István Jakab, the vice-president of the Parliament, emphasized that the Hungarian Parliament pays tribute to the work of Hungarian winemakers, and also reminded that Parliament Wine is served on the table at all notable parliamentary events.
