BMI: Permanent shrinkage in August
The seasonally adjusted August value of the Purchasing Manager Index (BMI): 47.6.
Compared with the previous August values, this year’s value is lower than the long-term average for this month (52.5) and also below the average of the values for this month of the previous three years (51.7).
Most of the sub-indices examined in the survey decreased. Among the sub-indices, eight indices are in the shrinking range and two in the expanding range.
The employment index did not change this month, its value indicates a contraction again. In the past period, the index hovered around 50.0 points, which remained unchanged this month (48.5).
