BMI: Slower contraction in September
The seasonally adjusted September value of the Purchasing Manager Index (BMI): 49.7.
Compared with the previous September values, this year’s value is lower than the long-term average for this month (52.5) and also below the average of the values for this month of the previous three years (50.1).
Most of the sub-indices examined in the survey rose. Five of the sub-indices are in the shrinking and expanding range.
The employment index decreased this month, and its value indicates a contraction again. In the past period, the index hovered around 50.0 points, which is lower this month than in August (47.9).
