BMI: Slight contraction in July
The seasonally adjusted July value of the Purchasing Manager Index (BMI): 45.7.
Compared with the previous July values, this year’s value is lower than the long-term average for this month (52.3) and also below the average of the values for this month of the previous three years (52.6).
The sub-indices examined in the survey changed in a mixed way, mostly the values indicate a narrowing.
The rate of changes exceeded seven percentage points in only one case.
The value of the employment index is 2.4 percentage points higher this month, thus indicating an upswing again. In the past period, the index hovered around 50.0 points, which rose again this month and shows expansion (51.6).
