ABInBev says the start of the year was encouraging
ABInBev has had a better start to the year than the company expected, with both revenue and profit growing above expectations. ABInBev ended the first quarter with 2.6% higher revenues and 5.4% more EBITDA (EUR 4.64bn). The profit margin rose by 90 points to 34.3%. However, sales volumes declined by 0.6%, so the increase is entirely due to price hikes and cost savings.
