Promising growth in food export
Both export and import grew at a faster rate in April 2008, than in the preceding three months. Exports were up by 24 per cent, while import increased by 18 per cent, compared to 2007. The export of food, beverages and tobacco decreased by 5 per cent in terms of quantity, while import was up by 8 per cent. Export prices were up by 22 per cent on average, compered to a 12 per cent average rise in import price.
