The mood of German consumers improved better than expected
The economic sentiment index of the German ZEW Institute for Economic Research improved more than expected in September as it had deteriorated continuously in the previous three months.
The economic sentiment index jumped to 17 points in September from the 10 points in August, indicating that the market expects the strengthening of the momentum of the German economy.
Analysts expected 12.5 points for September.
The indicator reflecting the momentum of the economy rose to 87.9 points from the 86.7 points in August, compared to the 0.1-point decline expectation of the analysts. (MTI)
