This year’s FAO scholarship recipients graduated in biotechnology and water management engineering
This diverse community is not only proof of the global presence of agricultural education, but also a powerful reminder that knowledge knows no borders, said Dr. Oszkár Ökrös, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, at the farewell ceremony for the recent graduates of the FAO scholarship program on Friday. In the scholarship program, implemented in cooperation between Hungary and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), this year, students graduating in water management engineering and biotechnology received their diplomas at the Ministry of Agriculture.

In his welcoming speech, the Deputy State Secretary highlighted that the program has welcomed students from 47 different countries in the past 18 years. The Hungarian-FAO Scholarship Programme has been operating since 2007 and has been successfully supporting students from developing countries to receive high-quality agricultural training in Hungary. More than 400 students have graduated under the programme so far.
