BIOFACH: more and more people are interested in organic products
February 14-17, 2023 BIOFACH, the world’s largest international fair presenting organic products, took place in Germany between During the four days of the exhibition, in addition to getting to know the companies involved in the production of organic food and their products, an international professional conference also took place, where a number of sessions discussing the strategic issues of the sector were held, including current issues of policy, sustainability, science and trade.
One of BIOFACH’s recurring, prominent programs is the presentation of the statistical yearbook on world organic farming. The latest volume of the publication “The World of Organic Agriculture” published by FiBL/IFOAM gives an idea of the global, European and domestic situation of organic farming based on 2021 data. The now traditional section of the Ecological Agricultural Research Institute (ÖMKi), featuring decision-makers from Central and Eastern Europe, was also held with great interest.
