Egg consumption has fallen in Hungary
In the last month of the last year, consumption habits in Hungary showed many interesting and special changes. In addition to the significant decrease in egg consumption and the skyrocketing gas consumption, interestingly, we saw an increase in the repair of products related to pets, as well as footwear and household appliances.
Flows and Withdrawals
December 2023 brought with it some significant changes in the consumption habits of Hungarians. Inflation has risen to historic highs, increasing the cost of living by an average of 17.6% over the previous year. As a result, many people were forced to give up milk, cheese, and eggs, and bought fewer cars, phones, and computers. – writes the Pénzcentrum’s analysis
Gas and Energy consumption
The interesting turn can be seen in energy consumption, where gas consumption decreased by almost a third, and the demand for fuels decreased by 14%. The month’s surprisingly mild weather may be the explanation, which caused a significant drop in heating and energy consumption.
