The Danone will close its factory in Budapest
The capacity utilization of Danone’s Budapest factory is so critically low, which can not be sustained longer, therefore the company decided to continuously reduce the factory’s output and in the second half of 2015 the would cease the production in Budapest.
According to the communication of the company sent to MTI on Wednesday, the step is necessary due to the continuously declining demand for fresh dairy products, and due to the unfavorable food and dairy industry trends.
The management of the company will begin the discussion with the trade union and the works council about the plan, the proposed timing and about the employee support package. The plan affects 155 employees out of the 270 people who are employed in Hungary – the company told. (MTI)
