American IKEA closes
Swedish IKEA announces that production will be finished in December in IKES’s factory in Virginia and will be moved to Europe – origo wrote.
According to Bert Eades, the manager of IKEA’s only American factory, the company has made every effort to keep the factory in the US, but it is not worth to stay in Virginia under the current conditions.
The factory in Danville opened in 2008 and employs a total of 300 people, mainly producing shelves and cabinets. (origo)
