The ministry would introduce the indication on GMO-free products
On a voluntary basis, there would be an indication on food packagings, labels and in advertisings that the product derives from GMO-free production – the Minister of Agriculture’s draft regulation was published on Tuesday on the government's website.
The label would be affixed to the product, if the genetically modified crop species received marketing authorization in the EU.
The food can contain 0.4 percent GMO (genetically modified organisms) as the random occurrence of the modified plants is technically unavoidable. (MTI)
