McDonald's Happy Meal is banned!
San Francisco became the first major city in the USA to ban restaurants from giving out toys with meals that have more than a set amount of calories, fat and salt, or that don't include fruits and vegetables.
A proposed city law would require the fast food chain to either stop including toys for children, or add fruit and vegetable portions and reduce calories.
Karen Wells, McDonald's vice president for nutrition and menu strategy, said: “It's different from what we're doing today and different from what we've done for 25 years, successfully. It is a shame to put a ban on Happy Meal and it ruins our public image”.
