They can ban the sale of alcohol in tobacco shops after 10 p.m
The ban on the sale of alcohol after 10 p.m. does not apply to tobacco shops, and the mayors of the Democratic Coalition would change this.
“It’s a common problem in Budapest today that whole groups drink in front of tobacco shops at night, and you can’t sleep because of the noise and shouting. It is in vain that the purchase of alcohol after 10 p.m. is prohibited in several districts, if this rule does not apply to tobacco shops”
– writes the Democratic Coalition in its statement. They complain that the local governments have no decision-making right in this matter, so they are initiating a change in the law on behalf of their Budapest mayors.
