Benzene was found in marine fish from Latvia
The inspectors of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) detected benzene above the limit in canned marine fish from Latvia – Bognár Lajos, Deputy Minister of State of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM), responsible for food chain surveillance and agri management told MTI on Thursday.
The 77 thousand pieces of cans were taken off from the store shelves.
The canned fish if Latvia receives it will be shipped back to the Baltic state, if not it will be in destroyed in Hungary – Bognár Lajos added. (MTI)
