The 30th Logistics Yearbook was presented
On December 16, the anniversary Logistics Yearbook of the Hungarian Logistics Association (MLE), one of the highest-level scientific professional publications in the domestic logistics sector, debuted at the UniZone BGE Student Center. This year’s volume, which also has a DOI number from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, contains a total of 27 studies, spanning more than 400 pages.
Not only the world, but also logistics has changed a lot in recent decades
Despite the many changes surrounding us, the goal of the Logistics Yearbook remains the same. To share the latest research results and professional and practical experiences in the field of logistics with those interested in the field. The first Logistics Yearbook was presented in the mid-1990s, so it has almost the same history as the professional organization that publishes it. It is true that since then, not only the world of logistics, but also everyday life has undergone many changes. Just as an example, televisions have become thinner, mobile phone screens have become larger and the internet has spread worldwide. Commercial and consumer habits have changed, as have marketing and advertising opportunities. Web stores have mushroomed, from which significant players have also grown in number, both domestically and globally.
“We have experienced several significant logistics events in the past few decades. The airspace closure resulting from the eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland, the restrictions resulting from the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the crisis caused by a container ship stuck in the Suez Canal, and the attacks by Houthi rebels in Yemen,”
– said Dr. Zoltán Doór, President of the Hungarian Logistics Association (MLE).
