This summer’s favorites are presented: Asian cocktails and snacks
Asian gastronomy has been conquering the world for a long time, but so far little attention has been paid to cocktails and snacks. Vietnamese origin Nguyen Thuy Phuong, who has lived in Hungary for more than 30 years, and his friends show the diversity of Asian drinks and snacks. These creations not only pamper the taste buds, but also tempt you on an imaginary journey.
Asia is a huge continent, and Vietnam is now at the center of our beverage curiosity. Phuong has lived in Hungary since he was a child, but he still preserves Vietnamese gastronomic traditions with his family. Preparing food together is part of everyday life, a joint activity of children and adults, women and men. Among other things, he recalled these childhood memories and flavors when he and his friends opened their Vietnamese restaurant called SÁO in the Gozsdu courtyard 10 years ago. Since the opening here, in addition to authentic food, drinks have also played a major role. All of the drink specialties are attributed to Phuong:
“Due to the warm weather and humid climate in Vietnam, drinking tea is common throughout the day. We also enjoy lemonades throughout the day. After sunset, the protagonists of the evenings are the cocktails.”
