The Rural Entrepreneur of the Year competition is presented – press breakfast in Budakalász

From 9:00 a.m. participants will be welcomed with breakfast, while the official program begins at 10:00 a.m. The event will feature presentations by Ida Petrik, initiator of the competition and founder of the Modern & Stylish Countryside Business Community, and Dr. Hajnalka Csorbai, Strategic Director of OPTEN, who will outline the role of rural enterprises in the Hungarian economy and the details of the competition call.

Organizers emphasized that nearly two-thirds of Hungarian enterprises operate in rural areas, providing jobs for 1.7 million people and accounting for 70% of Hungary’s exports. The award aims to give these companies a stronger voice and visibility, highlighting their community-building power and future-shaping role.

The Media for Rural Entrepreneurs award will also be announced at the press breakfast, recognizing journalists and content creators dedicated to showcasing rural businesses.

As part of the program, participants will enjoy a cellar tour and short wine tasting courtesy of Schieszl Wine House. Shuttle service to the venue will be provided by Volkswagen’s fully electric ID.Buzz minibus and its latest model, the Tayron.

The Rural Entrepreneurs of the Year awards gala will be held on November 11, 2025, at the Eiffel Műhelyház, where the best rural enterprises in Hungary will be recognized across categories.
