We present the European capitals of intelligent tourism
Dublin in Ireland can hold the title of Smart European Capital of Tourism in 2024, and Grosseto in Italy will be the green pioneer of smart European tourism next year, the competent office of the European Commission announced on Wednesday.
According to the information, Dublin won the title because digital solutions have become an integral part of the city’s tourism offer. This means that a world-class, city-wide digital hiking trail has been created, which helps to bring to life not only the city’s sights, but also its stories and communities.
By creating the Culture Near You Map, Dublin provides visitors with an interactive user experience, giving tourists as well as local residents the opportunity to find up-to-date information. In addition to cultural events, the digital program also includes information related to people and current events. All this can be achieved through a single platform, which reveals the richness of the city’s attractions at the push of a button, they wrote.
