VM: it is unfounded to talk about rising food prices, beacuase of the flood
According to the professional view of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM) it is unfounded to state that this year's flood will cause food price increase.
There is no doubt that due to the wet weather harvest will be delayed by two or three weeks, and it is also no doubt that due to the flood the 1.647 million hectares of autumn sowing area has decreased by 9 thousand hectares, but the weather is soon to be more favorable so farmers will able to avoid a significant loss of yield.
