The minister said that one of the two main agenda items of the meeting concerns fishing, and the ministers must now form an opinion on the 2025 fishing quotas for the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The other agenda item will be the situation of the EU’s internal market following the war in Ukraine, he said, adding that Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Vitaly Koval will also participate in the meeting. István Nagy reminded that the so-called emergency brake mechanism has already been activated for certain sensitive products imported from Ukraine to the EU, so it is necessary to discuss the principles and methods for agricultural imports from Ukraine in the future. The Minister mentioned Ukrainian honey as an example, the quantity of which arriving in the EU is an important and difficult issue for Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania.
