Poultry is also screened in Békés County
Poultry flocks that are not currently restricted are also being screened in Bács-Kiskun, Csongrád and now in Békés county – the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) announced on Tuesday.
The aim of the measure is to prevent the spread of the avian influenza virus. Shipments from these areas to any part of the country, whether for immediate slaughter or retention, must be preceded by an inspection 48 hours before transport. (MTI)
