The date of the 82nd OMÉK has been announced
The largest domestic event of the Hungarian agribusiness and food industry, the National Agricultural and Food Industry Exhibition and Fair (OMÉK), will be held again this year – announced Sándor Farkas, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Deputy Minister. The large-scale show taking place between September 18-21, 2025 in the HUNGEXPO area promises to be an unmissable program for both the agricultural profession and the general public.
OMÉK looks back on nearly 150 years of history, and since 2011, the Agricultural Marketing Center has been organizing Hungary’s largest agribusiness event every two years on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture. This year will be the 82nd time when all segments of the agricultural profession will meet over several days. However, thanks to the family programs for the general public, all age groups can gain an insight into the everyday life and novelties of the Hungarian agricultural and food industry.
“This event is of paramount importance, as it brings together the actors of the agricultural sector and consumers from time to time. It creates a meeting point. It brings together producers and buyers. It makes getting to know quality Hungarian food an experience for families”
– pointed out Sándor Farkas in his speech.
“The diversity of Hungarian agriculture is reflected in the fact that 80 Hungarian export-capable food manufacturing companies will be presenting themselves at this year’s OMÉK, but small producers will also have a place at the stands.”
– he continued.
The deputy minister announced at the press conference that the date of the 82nd OMÉK in 2025 will be September 18-21. between, in the usual HUNGEXPO area.
“Compared to the event two years ago, the programs will take place in a much larger area, in pavilions A, D, E, B and C of Hungexpo, and in addition, instead of the previous three, we are waiting for visitors for four days, from Thursday to Sunday”
– Péter Ondré, the managing director of the Agrármarketing Centrum, explained the details of the OMÉK. The expert added that the first two days of the fair, on September 18-19, will focus primarily on professional visitors, and the conferences will also take place at that time.
