Aufwind Schmack to start test operation of biogas plant in September
The Hungarian-based unit of Germany’s Aufwind Neue Energien has come to the last phase of testing a 3.9 billion HUF biogas plant in Szarvas, Aufwind Schmack announced. If everything goes well, the plant would open its gates in September.
Construction of the 4.2MW plant is supported by HUF 500 million in European Union and state funding. The plant will use 132,000 tonnes of feedstock – some to be supplied by neighbouring agribusiness Gallicoop Pulykafeldolgozó – to generate an annual 27.6m kWh of electricity as well as heat energy.
