The autumn harvest works in Békés county have been completed. It also produced significantly less sunflower and corn than in previous years; lack of rainfall is also a major threat to crops.

Fewer corn grown in Békés county
Kulcsár László, Békés County Director of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK), informed MTI on Wednesday that 215 thousand tons of sunflowers were harvested from nearly 83 thousand hectares, the average yield was 2.6 tons per hectare. Maize was sown on 104 thousand hectares, only 98 percent of the area could be harvested, which was 459 thousand tons with an average yield of 4.5 tons per hectare. (MTI)
