The first phase of the tourism development of Sió has been completed
The first phase of the tourism development of Sió has been completed, in which a bicycle path was built on the Sió embankment from the border of Szekszárd and Sióagárd to Harci with an investment of more than HUF 400 million, the Tolna County Municipality told MTI.
In addition, bike racks were also installed in Harco and Sióagárd, the project was implemented with the support of the Operational Program for Territorial and Settlement Development – they added in their announcement.
It was written that the priority economic and rural development program of the county of Tolna is the tourism development of the 100-kilometer long Sió channel connecting Lake Balaton and the Danube.
The essence of the idea “From Balaton to the Danube on water and on two wheels” is to create an 85-kilometer kayak-canoe and 70-kilometer cycling route along the river on the Tolna section of the Sió Canal.
